When looking for a place to stay near Denali, the prices were extremely high. We found the Denali Park Hotel and booked 3 rooms. It's about 4 miles from the entrance of the park. It is an older hotel with no frills, but it was clean and the location was great. Check in was very easy and the staff was very nice. We had a moose outside every day. The area is quiet and there's a great brewery a quarter mile down the street which served great food/beer. We would stay here again. Myself & a friend stayed at the hotel two nights in June. Room was clean & comfortable and a good value. Most importantly, I inadvertently left my passport in the room and the staff drove seven miles to leave it at another hotel that my wife was going to be arriving at! Can't beat that for service! Did not see a moose in Denali Park, but taking a walk down the street by the hotel there was one right across from us! Nice, clean rooms and not too expensive. The lobby, or main office is in a train, so that is exciting and that the road there is gravel or known as rocks. The bathrooms are pretty awesome but the beds, you need to share. Small, but very clean and accommodating hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
